Ripple Effect Wines is a small family project. We care for a unique hillside , dry-farmed, 1 hectare block in the Southern Valleys of Marlborough. We do a "gate to glass" approach, which means we grow and harvest the grapes, make some unique small batch wines, bottle and label them, caring for each step of the process before it gets to your glass.
Otherside, is a 100% carbonic maceration Chardonnay. Far from your typical Chardonnay, you will not find oak here, only carbonic goodness. Weighty yet lively, the energy flows across the palate. Wild fermentation. Only 823 bottles produced.
We are based in the Awatere Valley at the heart of our project, Marathon Downs farm. Our wines are hand made, small batch and made with thoughtfulness and intent.
Down the Garden Path Rosé. This wine was inspired by Granny Jean's garden on the farm and is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that has depth and colour with layers of texture and intensity. Much like the garden she planted out the back of our house.
Tidal Minds offers slow made, small batch ceramics from the wild and wooly South Island of Aotearoa. Powered by the sun and the sea, all of our pottery is handcrafted with intention using a solar powered kiln, an old kick wheel and a wild imagination.
The Tidal Minds studio is owned and run by Sophie Angelica - a multidisciplinary artist specialising in ceramics and sculpture. With meticulous attention to detail, Sophie draws from patterns of movement and form observed in the natural world. Her practice considers the temporality of all life, using storytelling as a tool to weave together visual and sculptural sanctuaries for the Tidal Mind. After a lifetime of alchemising mud to magic, Sophie now works full time from her studio in Blind River.
